Little Black Dresses have been a staple in women’s wardrobes, and it’s no wonder, with so many different styles a LBD can be worn for many occasions. Here we show you three of our little black dresses, each a saviour for different occasions.

Work

This figure hugging LBD is an essential piece of work wear. Styled with pearls and paired with a slick of red lipstick, this is a sophisticated but eye-catching work outfit.

Evening

With subtle diamante detailing and a little ruffle detailing, this dress is perfect for those special evenings. Wear your hair in an up-do and show off some sparkly earrings. Add a clutch bag and voila, your good to go!

Party

A LBD party dress has to have the WOW factor – a little different to the simple and sophisticated LBD work dress. With a poofy bottom and diamante broach, you’ll be ready to dance the night away. Pair with some simple black heels – you don’t want to draw too much attention away from your dress!

Colour Block Your Wardrobe

Categories: General

Colour Blocking is the term used to describe when two or more solid colours are combined, and its definitely made a striking appearance on this years fashion scene!

Think beach huts and seaside homes. Yes, that’s right, you know those clusters of brightly painted houses you always see in seaside towns? Well they have it spot on! An assortment of vibrant hues is what you’re looking for. The brighter the better!

Accessorize the above dresses with a colourful belt or garish shoes for that colour block effect.

Surges of vibrant prints, beading and embroidery hit the runway and our high streets as the fashion world gains inspiration from multicultural influences.

During New York Fashion Week, Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B collection exhibited the African style – I’ve always wanted to do the tribal thing but it’s pretty hard to get right. I think we’ve got it’, Gwen said.

Today was the second day of the premier of Africa Fashion Week London 2011; African fashion is very much in the spotlight this year, which has inspired us to create our very own tribal collection.

Look Like A Star

Jessica Alba was recently spotted at the BAFTA’s looking very sophisticated in a blue strapless gown. Her look was set off with eye-catching red lipstick and hair styled into a braided up do.

This look is perfect for a formal event or party – it is glamorous, yet classy! Steal Jessica’s style from froxy, with this understated blue gown. Quote ‘Alba’.

We recommend a slick of Lancome Le Rouge Absolue Lipstick in number 153 to add the finishing touches. With its slight warm orange undertones and moisturising effect, it’s the perfect finishing touch to your outfit.

Or if your on a budget, 17 offer a cheaper alternative in their Lasting Fix Lipstick range, suitably named ‘Hot Chilli‘.

Our Summer Picks

It’s been scorching hot outside today, and so in the spirit of summer, we’ve put together a collection of our three fave summery evening gowns to go with that summer glow!

Look cool and collective in this ice blue dress, made of a light chiffon material that will keep you cool all day long – even when you’re up on that dance floor. The floaty bottom and diamante neckline add a girly edge to this chic summer dress.

Layers of blossom pink coloured silk chiffon is draped luxuriously over the contours of the body, in this flattering summery evening gown. The bust line is embellished with sequins that will glimmer as they catch the light, creating a truly dramatic look.

With blends of leaf green, daffodil yellow and intricate rose buds on the waistline, this dress screams summer! Pair with a tan and a great pair of legs(oh, and shoes of course!), for that perfect summer outfit.

With thanks to Gino Cerruti, Xcite and Xtreme for providing the images.

Helena Bonham Strikes a Pose or Two for Marc Jacobs Fall 2011

Categories: General - Tags: , , , , ,

We all know fashion can be a bit eccentric at times, but this is just plain strange! Despite Marc Jacobs weird approach to advertising, we kinda like it!

The new ad campaigns have been trickling out one by one over the past week, revealing the bizarre images  photographed by Juergen Teller. The first one to be released was of Helena in a pink scaly, futuristic looking dress, and a blue pillbox hat.

The second one to be realised seemed to spark a lot of interest, and after checking it out ourselves, we know why! In this image she is photographed looking rather ill, with her tongue sticking out, spots all over her face and swollen eyes – I don’t know about you but we where getting a bit bored of all the predictable ads. Who would have thought chicken pox and fashion would go so well together ey?

Helena Bonham Carter

The latest to be released is of Helena kneeling down (again with her tongue out) but this time panting and begging like a dog. Love it or hate it, no one can deny that these latest Marc Jacobs ad campaigns have certainly caught some attention!

One think that we have been wondering though, after seeing a very ill-looking Helena, and what appears to be her panting and acting like a dog, would you really be inspired to go out and buy Marc Jacobs clothing collection?
